Introducing the 2016-17 QP Awards

Mission Statement

The QP Awards aim to celebrate the greatest moments and the best players from across the past year in quidditch. We hope to offer all athletes and teams the opportunity to gain recognition for the hard work and skill they brought to the 2016-17 season (even those that don’t have a season that runs from July 1 until June 30).

What each award should stand for

Best Chaser – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best chaser in the 2016-17 season.

Best Beater – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best beater in the 2016-17 season.

Best Keeper – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best keeper in the 2016-17 season.

Best Seeker – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best seeker in the 2016-17 season.

Best European Player – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best across Europe in the 2016-17 season.

Best Canadian Player – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best across Canada in the 2016-17 season.

Best U.S. Player – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best across the U.S. in the 2016-17 season.

Best Australian Player – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best across Australia in the 2016-17 season.

Best Latin American Player – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best across Latin America in the 2016-17 season.

Best Asian Player – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best across Asia in the 2016-17 season.

Best Referee – The award is presented to the individual adjudged to have made an outstanding contribution to refereeing in the 2016-17 season.

Best Snitch – The award is presented to the individual adjudged to have made an outstanding contribution to snitching in the 2016-17 season.

Best Team – The award is presented to the team adjudged to be the most outstanding in the 2016-17 season.

Best Game – The award is presented to the single game in Quidditch adjudged to be the best in the 2016-17 season.

Best Cheer – The award is presented to the team adjudged to have the best chant/cheer across the 2016-17 season.

Best Uniform – The award is presented to the team adjudged to have the best uniform in the 2016-17 season.

Best Comeback – The award is presented to the individual adjudged to have made the most impressive comeback from injury, illness or retirement in the 2016-17 season.

Best Newcomer – The award is presented to the individual adjudged to been the most impressive new player in the 2016-17 season.

Best Breakthrough – The award is presented to the individual adjudged to have had the best breakthrough in the sport in the 2016-17 season.

Best Upset – The award is presented to the individual or team adjudged to have completed the most impressive or most significant upset in the 2016-17 season.

Best Play – The award is presented to the play or performance adjudged to be the most remarkable in the 2016-17 season.

Best Player – The award is presented to the player adjudged to be the best in the 2016-17 season.

Best Photo – The award is presented to the photo adjudged to best capture the 2016-17 season.

Best Moment – The award is presented to the moment in a season adjudged to be the most remarkable or entertaining in the 2016-17 season.

Voting

Nominations will close on July 15 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Finalists will be announced beginning on July 17. Voting for finalists will close at 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 31, with winners being announced in early August.
